Maybelline ''Designer Chocolates'' Expert Wear Quad

Hey everybodyyy.

IT'S FALL! And this means... NEW MAKEUP TRENDS!

Fall is one my favorite seasons because you can play so much with your makeup. You can go bold with your eyes and lips... sometimes both! It's all about switching to darker colors. The trendiest dark color for fall is plum.

And speaking of plum...

I have an eyeshadow quad I recently purchased that want I to review for you all :)

It's the Maybelline ''Designer Chocolates'' Expert Wear Quad. Price was $6.99 at Rite Aid.
This quad has been around for quite a while. I've seen reviews about it on Youtube and I was really interested in getting it because the colors seemed perfect for autumn. Let's take a closer look :)

Overview:

Closer look at the colors:

The colors in this quad are numbered from 1 - 4.

1. ''Base'' - White pearly color with subtle shimmer.
2. ''Lid'' - Light brown/beige color with subtle summer.
3. ''Crease'' - Plum/Coppery color with shimmer.
My favorite and the reason why I bought the quad!
4. ''Liner'' - Medium/Dark brown color with subtle shimmer

Overall, I wasn't super impressed with the pigmentation of these shadows compared to other Maybelline's eyeshadows I own. I mean, they are pigmented, but not as vibrant. Texture wise they are good. Didn't experience much fallout.

However, I do love the colors... especially the plum! This quad is perfect everyday neutral looks. You can also incorporate the plum for a pop of color that's fall-appropriate. It's an easy way to change up your everyday look.

These are puuurrrfect ( see what I did there? ;) ) for fall. I will definitely be wearing these a lot, but with a primer underneath to intensify the colors.

Do I recommend? Yes, but keep in mind you might want to use a primer.

Thank you all for visiting and keep an eye on this blog because I'll be posting a lot more! Including  videos on Youtube ;)

*NEW* Jordana Twist & Shine Balm Stains!

Hey everybody! Can't believe this is my first post!! :D

Since I didn't really know what to post, I decided to post a mini-review of the new Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stains.

People have been RAVING about these on Youtube (yes, I'm subscribed to tons of beauty channels on Youtube haha).

Jordana recently released tons of new products, including these balm stains. These balm stains are in a crayon form (similar to Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain $8.99), they twist up so there is no need to sharpen, and they come in a variety of colors. Oh, and they're around $3!

These balms stains claim to:

  • Be moisturizing
  • Leave a light-weight stain
  • Apply with a glossy finish that will then transform into 'The perfect flush of color''

I definitely wanted to give these a try, so I went to Walgreens and decided to pick up two.

Left: ''Sweet Pink''
Right: ''Cranberry Crush''

Here are some swatches of both balm stains. Please excuse my weird hand haha :D

Let's start with ''Sweet Pink'':
I picked this one up because it looked like a deep, neutral (muted) pink in the packaging. However, when I put it on my lips, it looked a lot more pink and less neutral. You can build it up and make it a bright pink color.

''Cranberry Crush'':
I picked this one up because it looked like a really deep Cranberry color... perfect for fall! When I put it on my lips, it didn't look as dark. I was kinda disappointed because it looked similar to Sweet Pink, just a little bit darker. Still a really pretty color for fall, though.

Overall, I do like these. Their pigmentation is good, you can build up the intensity, they are long lasting, moisturizing... and they're suuuuper cheap! I would pick up more colors, but keeping in mind that the actual color may differ from the color showed in the packaging.

Since they are darker, I will be wearing these for fall a lotttt! :)
